You may be wondering about the corona-virus situation and how this might affect the operation of our New Zealand Electrical Inspectors Association. Currently New Zealand is very fortunate to have extremely low numbers infected by this tragic illness. Our government and business communities have to date responded responsibly to keep it at bay. Sadly this could all change in a very short space of time. We (NZEIA) don’t have a policy regarding how we operate in relation to this illness but a few simple conventions need to apply.
At a National meeting level:
Many organisations are re thinking their position on meeting in large numbers of people as a step towards lessening their chances of contracting or spreading this disease. NZEIA currently do not meet in such numbers that we should consider this an issue, but if you feel uncomfortable meeting with a group of people at this time - your stance is acceptable to us, and we look forward to days ahead where you have normality back in your life. Daniel Muller has got the live streaming service back up and available, this will make it possible for anyone who has concern of missing out on attending our meetings remotely to be facilitated. To take advantage of our streaming service you will need to advise us before the meeting day. The best way to register for the event is by logiing in to the website and registering under the EVENTS Tab. We will need to issue a teleconference access code to you if you want to listen online. Please do not leave it to just before a meeting .
If you are sick in any way, please do not attend our meetings in person, please use our streaming service instead.
At a Local meeting level:
We do not offer a streaming service at these meetings but we still do not expect or want people to attend these meetings if they are sick in any way.
If you wish to have input into the local meetings but cannot attend due to illness, please send in a written submission for discussion or contact your local Executive member and discuss what you would like discussed at the next meeting.
To catch up on what was discussed at the local meeting utilise the valuable network of people that were able to attend.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this topic, please contact the President. (See the Contact page.)
